Bio
Daniel Buchan, DO, is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon at Bluewater Orthopedics in Destin, Niceville, and Crestview, FL. He takes care of a broad scope of orthopedic injuries and ailments but has special training in complex upper extremity problems, including joint replacements, fractures, nerve, tendon, and soft tissue injuries.
Dr. Buchan completed his undergraduate degree at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Buchan finished his orthopedic surgery residency at OhioHealth in Columbus and his hand surgery fellowship at Kettering Health Network in Dayton.
When Dr. Buchan is not working, he dedicates much of his time to his wife, Maureen, and his three young children Reed, Olive, and Hattie. He also enjoys playing golf, running, biking, camping, and going to the beach. His favorite sports teams are the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He carries a terrible towel into every case with him - but don’t worry, it’s sterile!
